From April 28 to May 1, in Venice it is scheduled extraordinary influx of visitors to the city. This is why the Mayor has issued an order authorizing the police to take some urgent measures, if the influx of people to Piazzale Roma or other access points to the city from becoming excessive and difficult to manage.

The paths of daily tourists will be diverted from the busier areas:

  1. The route Piazzale Roma, Santa Lucia Station, Strada Nuova, can be diverted along less known roads, allowing access only to residents and holders of Venezia Unica card.
  2. The tourists who like to Rialto or San Marco will be made to continue on alternate routes.
  3. Ban on landing in Riva Schiavoni for the Lancioni (large motorboats), great tourism coming from the coastal Municipalities (Cavallino, Treporti, Jesolo)
  4. the Ponte della Libertà may be limited to the circulation of vehicles subscribed to garages, taxis, leasing vehicles and the public buses (direction Piazzale Roma), to avoid congestion in Piazzale Roma.

We suggest, therefore, to follow the directions of the police and, if coming from Mestre, take public transportation, buses and trains, which have a very high frequency.
