On June 2, 2018 there will be the Republic Day to commemorate the birth of the Italian Republic.
It is celebrated every year according to the date of the institutional referendum of 1946, with the main celebration taking place in Rome.
Free Museums
In Venice there will be a nice initiative organized by the City of Venice and the Venice Civic Museums Foundation:
free entry for all the residents of the 44 municipalities of the Metropolitan City in 9 lagoon museums: from Palazzo Ducale to the Correr Museum, from Ca ‘Pesaro, associated with the Museum of Oriental Art, the Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo, the Museum of Murano Glass at the Lace Museum of Burano, the House of Carlo Goldoni at the Museum of Natural History and Ca ‘Rezzonico – Museo del Settecento Veneziano. Palazzo Fortuny and the Clock Tower are excluded.
PAY ATTENTION TO THE GATES
We also inform you that, due to the huge influx of tourists, on that day the GATES will be restored in front of the Ponte della Costituzione and the entry of Lista di Spagna. The structures will be ready to close, in case of an excessive number of people, conveying them on alternative routes. Near to the Gates there will be some directional totems and stewards that will give the requested information.
